About Us
Welcome to Safe Sign In
Safe Sign In is an independent blog about everyday online account security. We write plain-English, step-by-step guides for people who are not security experts but want to protect their email, social media, banking and shopping accounts.
What we cover
- Recovering hacked accounts (email, Facebook, Instagram and more)
- Two-factor authentication (2FA), passkeys and security keys
- Passwords, passphrases and password managers
- Phishing emails, text scams and online fraud
- Identity theft, credit freezes and payment-app scams
- VPNs, Wi-Fi and home router safety
Why this blog exists
Most account takeovers are not caused by movie-style hacking. They usually come from reused passwords, phishing messages and missing second steps at sign-in. The good news is that a few simple habits prevent a large share of these problems. Our goal is to explain those habits clearly, without fear-mongering or jargon.
Who writes Safe Sign In
Articles are published by the Safe Sign In Editorial Team. We are not a security company and we do not claim special credentials. What we do is careful research: every guide is built from the official help pages of the services involved (such as Google, Apple, Microsoft and Meta) and from public guidance by U.S. agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
Editorial policy
- Sources first. Steps, numbers and rules are checked against official sources, and we link to those sources so you can verify them yourself.
- Original content. Every article is written for this blog and is not copied from other sites. Writing tools may assist with drafting, but every article is checked against the sources above before it is published.
- Practical steps. We focus on actions you can take today. Apps change their menus often, so we also point you to the official help page for the latest screens.
- Honest recommendations. We only mention real tools, and we explain both their strengths and their limits. No one pays us to recommend a product.
- Reviews and updates. We review our guides when a service changes its process, and we show the date of the latest update on the article.
- Corrections. If you spot an error or an outdated step, email us at vyldor4@gmail.com and we will review it.
How the blog is funded
Safe Sign In may display advertising (such as Google AdSense). We may earn a commission if you buy through links on this site in the future, at no extra cost to you. This never changes the price you pay, and we do not recommend a tool just because it might pay a commission. See our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy for details.
Important note
We are not a law firm, a bank, or an official support channel for any company. Articles here are educational. If your account is compromised, always use the official recovery pages of the service involved, and never pay anyone who contacts you offering to "recover" an account.
